What Happened:
After being sentenced to community service Homer meets Mrs. Myrna Bellamy while doing meals on wheels . She was an elderly lady that Homer and Marge worked for. She was stabbed in the back by a mysterious man with braces but Homer and Marge were suspects since she had recently changed her will to leave $50,000 to the Simpsons.
The Trial:

Blue Haired lawyer is in the plaintiff and the Simpsons are defended by Gil. Blue Haired lawyer points out that the $50,000 will and the necklace found in the Simpson’s house as evidence of the Simpsons committing the crime. Judge Snyder asks Gil if the defense has any final remarks and Gil says not at this time. Judge Snyder says this in the only time and Gil says no. The jury finds the defendants guilty. Judge Snyder sentences them both to death in the electric chair.
Plot Twist:
Afterwords Homer confesses as if he was the only one who committed the crime. Then in the electric chair we see that it was all a part of some FOX reality show.
